Lorraine is a member of both the Bowen Therapy Professional Association and the Federation of Holistic Therapists and is also registered with Government-sponsored Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

Lorraine continually expands her knowledge of health by attending workshops: Lorraine learnt the work of Howard Plummer called Fascia Bowen in September 2016. The aim of Fascia Bowen is to achieve maximum movement across the skin and fascia with minimal force or pressure making it appropriate for those with sensitivity issues.
In October 2015 Lorraine was taught by Julian Baker at his Spinal workshop. She increased her knowledge on the structural components of the cranium, spine, sacrum and pelvis. Lorraine was made aware of Red flags for spinal conditions. Additionally she learnt the Hot Flush procedure for the menopause.

In April 2014 Lorraine attended the ECBS Mother and Baby workshop by Sylvia J Wilkinson.  Lorraine learnt the best practice for treating pregnant ladies, newborn babies and infants. Addressing concerns such as infertility, some common ailments that affect ‘mums to be’ such as morning sickness, heartburn, lower back pain etc and new born babies who have had a difficult entry into this world and have problems feeding or sleeping. Lorraine was also advised on how a Bowen Therapist can enhance the care given by a midwife at this very special time.

In May 2013, Lorraine took part in the Shoulder and Pelvis Workshop to ensure perfect accuracy, pressure, speed and timing of these procedures.  In this ECBS course Lorraine reviewed the anatomy, function and biomechanics of the shoulder and pelvic areas and the pathology of common injuries, including after-care and exercises.
At the Assessment Workshop in 2012 taught by Michael Morris BSc (hons), PGCE, MBTPA, CNHC, CertECBS, Lorraine completed a study of the Functional Anatomy of the Body and the Examination Process as well as learning Orthopaedic-Style Tests and the Practice of Body Reading.

Lorraine's Bowen skills moved to a higher level at "The Bowen Technique Practitioner Development Workshop" in 2011.

Lorraine's original course of study was The Classics and Oriental History, ultimately gaining a masters by research at the graduate college of Wolfson, The University of Oxford. The Latin and Ancient Greek acquired has been useful in her study of Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology at The Oldham College, resulting in a VTCT Level 3 Diploma.  Lorraine has also been trained to administer First Aid At Work. Lorraine volunteered at SureStart Woodlands Children's Centre as an Early Worker assistant where she helped run the Fitness Fun sessions in 2009.  Her concern for the health of children was part of the motivation in learning the Bowen Technique due to its gentle approach which is of particular benefit when treating Autism and  Asperger's Syndrome.
